Hollywood Breaking is an independent entertainment publication covering film, television, music, and the wider business of pop culture. We launched on a simple premise: readers deserve coverage that takes the work seriously without taking itself too seriously.

What we cover

  • Breaking news from studios, networks, streamers, and labels
  • Reviews and recaps of new releases
  • Profiles, interviews, and longer features on the people shaping the industry
  • The business side — box office, ratings, streaming charts, executive moves
  • The discourse around all of the above, when it’s actually worth covering

What we don’t do

  • Pay for stories or interviews
  • Publish unverified rumors as fact
  • Recycle press releases and call it reporting
  • Treat speculation and reporting interchangeably — when we don’t know something, we say so

Our standards

Every news story is checked by at least one editor who didn’t write it. Corrections are issued visibly, not silently edited. Sources are named whenever protecting them isn’t the only way the story gets told — and when we do use anonymous sources, we explain why in the piece.

Editorial independence

Advertising and editorial operate as separate teams. Sponsored content is labeled clearly and produced by a different group of writers. No advertiser, publicist, studio, or representative has the ability to spike a story or shape coverage in exchange for access.
